Tooth Extractions

Dr. Flowers’ patient rooms are modern and comfortable.

Gentle, low-force Tooth Extractions

If a tooth has been broken or damaged by decay, Dr. Flowers will usually repair it with a filling, crown or other dental treatment. Sometimes, though, there is simply too much damage for the tooth to be repaired. In such a case, the tooth needs to be extracted.

Dr. Flowers uses what is known as an atraumatic extraction technique. This gentle, low-force extraction preserves the bone around the tooth and doesn’t cause any injury or damage. And, of course, Dr. Flowers will do whatever it takes to put you at ease and make sure you remain relaxed and comfortable throughout the procedure.

Wisdom Tooth Extractions

Tooth Extractions
Wisdom teeth are the third and last set of molars that emerge. This is usually during your late teens or early twenties. When a wisdom tooth is impacted, it means that the tooth isn’t coming in straight through the gum line but at an angle.

An impacted wisdom tooth can lead to pain as the tooth may only emerge partially or the tooth can come in unevenly. An impacted wisdom tooth can also cause structural damage to the jaw and other teeth. And it can provide a place for bacteria to grow since it is hard to reach and clean.

Dr. Charles Flowers has been extracting wisdom teeth for over 30 years. He uses advances in dentistry combined with state-of-the-art technology to enable patients to have their wisdom teeth removed in a way that promotes minimal post-operative discomfort and fast healing.

Socket preservation for implants

To sustain the maximum amount of bone after tooth extraction in preparation for future implant placement, Dr. Flowers uses the socket preservation technique. After the tooth is extracted the tooth socket is filled with bone grafting material to help minimize post-extraction bone loss.

This treatment, which Dr. Flowers is extremely experienced in performing, is also known as an extraction socket graft, socket graft or ridge preservation.

Special Needs Patients

For patients with special needs, Dr. Flowers offers in- or out-patient hospital dental services, including wisdom teeth extraction. It’s possible for him to do a wide range of dental procedures in the hospitals, which can make it easier for those with medical problems, or who are best treated with general anesthesia.
